What is the best editor for PHP/Javascript/AJAX?

Postby louenlax » October 29th, 2009, 1:41 am

What is the best editor for PHP/Javascript/AJAX? I'm looking for an editor that would be good for Web Technologies. I already have Dreamweaver, but I was wondering if there was any other good editors out there. Hopefully ones that have code completion and that is useful for AJAX. It doesn't matter if it is freeware or not. Thanks in advance for the help!

I'd recommend Eclipse with PDT http://www.eclipse.org/pdt/, Subversive http://www.eclipse.org/subversive/ and XDebug. An article on setting these up:

Or Aptana Studio which is Eclipse with a lot of pre-packaged web development plugins for PHP, JavaScript, RoR etc. http://www.aptana.org/
